Sunday School Resumes, School Reopens & Carrie Brown's Ghana Update
Sun, Sep 11th 10:30am - 11:30am
First Reformed Church of Bethlehem 38 Church Rd. Selkirk, NY 12158

There will be a lot happening at church today. Many of us will be remembering the events of that day, and we will incorporate that remembrance into part of our worship service. Sunday School Resumes - we will start with what has become a tradition - face painting and balloon animals! A light lunch will be provided following worship, so all of us who are young at heart can grab something to eat and head outside. Our face-painter will be back and will take requests for a variety of decorative designs on faces. We will also be able to have our choice of a balloon animal or headpiece. Our theme for the first part of the year will be “Learning to Love like God!!” We will be using curriculum from Illustrated Ministries and will be incorporating stories, art, music, and play. Come and bring a friend! School Reopens - Does your child have a backpack as part of their school supplies? A blessing of the backpacks is a good way to acknowledge that we want Jesus to be with each child throughout the school year and in every part of the school day. Pastor Jenn will provide a blessing of the backpacks, and each child will receive a new tag for their backpack. It’s Been A Looong Time! - Carrie Brown was last home from Ghana for Christmas, 2019. She will be here to share information about her work in Ghana during worship. She will show pictures and tell stories about the children she works with, as well as showing the progress being made on the inclusive school. The second building, a nursery-kindergarten building, will be completed and commissioned by then, and she has exciting plans for educating these young children. She will be returning to Ghana on September 14, so this may be your only chance to hear about her important work that our church supports.
